Project:RelEng/LiveCD/2004.3

This guide serves as the definitive source for all 2004.3 information.

Goals

With the hopes of finishing off 2004 on a high note, the Release Engineering team is going to focus on bug fixing and polishing for the 2004.3 release. Our main focus will be the enhancement and optimization of release media, especially with regard to the x86 architecture.

In addition to bug fixing, the Release Engineering team is going to be releasing some technology previews as well. These previews will highlight what is to come for the 2005 year of release media.

The Release Enginnering team has identified the following key focus areas:

  • Smaller, more optimized x86 LiveCDs
  • Better control of the release timeline, especially when it comes to uploading and final QA
  • Better control of release information such as changes and bug fixes since the previous release
